Our client, a leader in pharmaceutical innovation, is seeking a highly accomplished Remote Pharmaceutical Research Scientist specializing in Drug Discovery. You will be involved in cutting-edge research, utilizing advanced techniques to identify and validate new drug targets. The role requires a deep understanding of molecular biology, pharmacology, and medicinal chemistry, along with a strong publication record. As a fully remote position, exceptional self-discipline, proactive communication, and proficiency in virtual collaboration tools are essential. Responsibilities: Design and execute experiments to identify and validate novel drug targets in various therapeutic areas. Develop and optimize in vitro and in vivo assays for drug screening and characterization. Analyze complex biological data using statistical and bioinformatics tools. Investigate mechanisms of action for potential drug candidates. Collaborate with internal research teams and external academic partners to advance drug discovery programs. Prepare detailed research reports, presentations, and scientific publications. Contribute to the strategic planning of drug discovery projects. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of scientific literature and emerging technologies in relevant fields. Ensure all research activities are conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines and company policies. Manage timelines and resources effectively for assigned research tasks. Qualifications: PhD in Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field. Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in drug discovery. Proven expertise in designing and executing complex biological assays (e.g., cell-based assays, enzyme assays, receptor binding assays). Strong understanding of disease pathways and target validation strategies. Experience with small molecule drug discovery or biologics development. Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, R) and bioinformatics tools. Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills, with a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a remote research environment. Strong collaborative spirit and effective virtual communication skills. Experience with high-throughput screening (HTS) is a plus. Familiarity with regulatory requirements in pharmaceutical development is desirable.
