Job Summary: Location: Gurugram, Haryana, India / WFH THE JOB We’re looking for a Development Manager who is passionate about technology and has a strong desire to learn and grow their skills. They will report to the Senior Director of Product & Technology, Privacy & AI Governance, and lead a team of professional-level software developers to deliver high‑quality, scalable, and secure technology solutions. This role blends people leadership, technical oversight, and cross‑functional collaboration. The Development Manager sets goals and objectives for team members, ensures compliance with engineering best practices, and removes barriers to enable the successful delivery of products and services. This manager oversees their team's operational results. Problems faced may be difficult but are typically not complex. The Development Manager ensures that organizational policies, practices, and procedures are clearly understood and followed by all direct reports, customers, and stakeholders. WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO Leadership & People Management Manage, mentor, and develop a team of developers, providing coaching, feedback, and career growth opportunities. Set goals and objectives for team members that align with the overall team’s OKRs, roadmap, and strategy Ensure team members understand and follow all engineering, security, and organizational policies and procedures. ·Support hiring, onboarding, and technical grooming of new team members. Project & Delivery Management Plan, lead, and deliver development projects on time and within scope. Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, and other partners to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Apply Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban. Should be flexible for morning and evening scrum calls for status updates. Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and remove blockers. Technical Oversight Guide software architecture, design patterns, and coding standards. Conduct code reviews (when applicable). Support troubleshooting and debugging of complex issues. Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines and cloud best practices. Ensure performance, security, and privacy considerations are built into solutions. Process & Continuous Improvement Improve development processes, quality standards, and engineering tooling. Promote continuous learning and innovation. Encourage operational excellence and automation. WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING Required Skills 7 to 12 years of experience. Strong Core Java Experience and advanced working knowledge of J2EE (Core Java 8, REST, Webservices, and JDBC), Hibernate, and Web Services-related technologies. Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience in J2EE Development Strong SQL & RDBMS skills and developer experience on databases like MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle. 3+ years of experience working with AWS. Fluent/Strong English-speaking skills. Nice to have Experience with performance tuning for the speed, efficiency, and scalability of Java-based applications. Experience working with Kafka. Experience working with Docker/ Kubernetes Experience working with NoSQL Experience with CI/CD and DevOps.
