UI/UX Human Factor Developer, Junior
CGI Federal is an exciting company focused on national security through advanced technology. They are seeking a Junior UI/UX Human Factor Developer to design user interfaces and experiences that are effective and enjoyable while applying principles of psychology, engineering, and design.
Responsibilities
- Conducting user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to understand user needs and behaviors
- Creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes of user interfaces, ensuring they are intuitive and aligned with user expectations
- Evaluating the usability of designs through testing and feedback, identifying areas for improvement
- Working closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to implement and refine designs
- Applying human factors principles (e.g., cognitive load, perception, motor skills) to design systems that are safe, efficient, and comfortable for users
- Documenting design decisions, research findings, and usability test results
Skills
- Bachelor's degree and/or 0 to 2 years of experience
- Active TS/SCI required, active TS/SCI with Poly highly desired
- Proficiency in wireframing, prototyping, and visual design
- Experience with various research methods, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing
- Knowledge of human capabilities, limitations, and cognitive processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively and present findings
- Ability to identify and solve usability issues and propose creative solutions
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g., PenPot, Adobe Creative Cloud) and basic coding skills
