Key Responsibilities

Guest Interaction & Service Excellence

  • Greet every guest with a warm, genuine smile and a proactive “How can I help you today?” attitude.
  • Provide accurate, friendly checkout assistance, handling cash, credit, and digital payments while maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
  • Resolve guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly, escalating complex issues to the shift supervisor when necessary.
  • Promote arenaflex’s loyalty programs, seasonal promotions, and upsell complementary products to enhance the guest’s shopping experience.

Transaction Processing & Accuracy

  • Scan items efficiently, apply appropriate discounts, process returns, voids, and exchanges in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain compliance with state and local regulations for restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco.
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately in the point‑of‑sale system, minimizing errors and discrepancies.

Merchandising & Store Maintenance

  • Keep checkout lanes clean, organized, and fully stocked with essential supplies (e.g., bags, receipt paper, promotional signage).
  • Assist with shelf stocking, product rotation (FIFO – First In, First Out), and inventory replenishment as directed by the store manager.
  • Participate in planogram execution, promotional set‑ups, and seasonal merchandising initiatives.
  • Support back‑room organization, including receiving deliveries, checking invoices, and ensuring proper storage of perishable items.

Compliance & Loss Prevention

  • Follow arenaflex’s loss‑prevention procedures to identify and deter potential theft or fraud.
  • Report any suspicious activity or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards, especially when handling food items or operating equipment.

Specialized Services (Photo & Pharmacy)

  • Assist guests in the photo department with digital photo printing, banner creation, and specialty product selection.
  • Process online photo orders, pick items for in‑store pickup, and ensure timely delivery of finished products.
  • Provide basic support to the pharmacy counter, such as answering non‑clinical questions and directing guests to the pharmacist.

Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Share best practices with teammates to foster a consistent, high‑quality guest experience across all shifts.
  • Participate in scheduled training sessions, performance reviews, and store meetings.
  • Contribute ideas for process enhancements, merchandising displays, and service innovations.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of six months experience in a retail or customer‑service environment; prior experience with arenaflex is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications & Attributes

  • Previous experience operating a point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
  • Familiarity with inventory management concepts such as FIFO and planogram compliance.
  • Experience in a pharmacy, photo, or food‑service setting.
