About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Silicon Design

arenaflex is a global leader in cutting‑edge semiconductor solutions, delivering next‑generation system‑on‑chip (SoC) platforms that power everything from consumer electronics to high‑performance computing. Our mission is to turn bold ideas into tangible silicon that enables experiences people never imagined. With a culture rooted in innovation, inclusion, and relentless curiosity, arenaflex empowers engineers to push the boundaries of what’s possible in ASIC design, low‑power architecture, and custom circuit development.

Why This Role Matters

As a Part‑Time Remote Custom Circuits Design Engineer at arenaflex, you will be at the heart of our silicon design engine. You’ll collaborate with world‑class architects, power teams, and verification specialists to create custom circuits that drive efficiency, performance, and reliability across our flagship SoC products. This is a unique opportunity to influence the architecture of high‑volume, low‑power chips while enjoying the flexibility of a remote, part‑time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom analog and mixed‑signal circuits for advanced ASICs, including SRAM blocks, on‑chip sensors, and low‑power ML accelerators.
  • Partner with power‑delivery (PD) groups and layout engineers to define specifications, characterize performance, and validate design margins across process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) corners.
  • Perform schematic capture, simulation, layout sign‑off, and silicon bring‑up activities, ensuring design quality meets arenaflex’s rigorous standards.
  • Lead silicon debug sessions, collect and analyze test data, and develop robust methodologies for failure analysis and yield improvement.
  • Write and maintain automation scripts (Python, Perl, or similar) to streamline design flows, data extraction, and regression testing.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams—digital design, verification, physical design, and product management—to translate system requirements into circuit‑level solutions.
  • Document design decisions, test plans, and verification results in clear, concise engineering reports.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives within the silicon design community at arenaflex.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience designing low‑voltage, low‑power custom circuits for ASICs or SoCs.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven track record in designing SRAM, analog front‑ends, DC‑DC converters, on‑chip sensors, or high‑speed timing circuits.
  • Process Knowledge: Deep understanding of sub‑micron device physics, noise sources (1/f, thermal), and their impact on precision analog design.
  • Debug Skills: Ability to lead silicon debug, interpret ATE data, and develop corrective actions for yield enhancement.
  • Programming: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Perl for automation and data analysis.
  • EDA Tools: Experience with industry‑standard circuit design and simulation tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Mentor Graphics, Synopsys Custom Designer, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with AI accelerator circuits, non‑volatile memory (e.g., MRAM, FeRAM), or time‑to‑digital converters (TDCs).
  • Familiarity with mixed‑signal verification methodologies and testbench development.
  • Knowledge of low‑power design techniques such as power gating, dynamic voltage scaling, and adaptive body biasing.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working across geographically dispersed teams.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex system requirements into manageable circuit blocks.
  • Innovation: Passion for exploring novel architectures and pushing the limits of silicon efficiency.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to design verification, documentation, and quality control.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.
  • Team Orientation: Commitment to shared success, mentorship, and knowledge transfer.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its engineers. As a part‑time member of our silicon team, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior ASIC architects and industry veterans.
  • Technical workshops on advanced analog design, low‑power techniques, and emerging AI hardware.
  • Opportunities to transition to full‑time roles or lead independent design projects as you demonstrate impact.
  • Participation in internal hackathons and innovation challenges that reward creative problem‑solving.
