Role Overview – Remote Data Entry Engineer (Distributed Systems)

We are seeking a talented Remote Data Entry Engineer to join our Distributed Systems squads. In this role you will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance data pipelines, storage layers, and query engines that enable arenaflex micro‑services to ingest, process, and serve data at sub‑millisecond latencies. You will work closely with product managers, TPMs, and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into reliable, scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed data ingestion pipelines that handle petabyte‑scale workloads with sub‑second latency.
• Build and optimize query‑front services that translate complex data requests into efficient execution plans across multiple storage back‑ends.
• Collaborate with open‑source communities to contribute arenaflex‑owned projects and ensure our platform stays at the cutting edge of technology.
• Develop monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery mechanisms to guarantee data reliability and availability.

Essential Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience building large‑scale distributed systems or data platforms.
• Proficiency in designing and developing RESTful web services and APIs.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or another JVM‑based language; familiarity with Python is a plus.
• Experience with distributed storage technologies (e.g., Cassandra, DynamoDB, HBase) and query engines (e.g., Presto/Trino, Druid, Flink).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, schema evolution, and data consistency patterns.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
