Role Overview – Associate Network Security Engineer (Remote Customer Support)

As an Associate Network Security Engineer within arenaflex’s IT Information Security (InfoSec) organization, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and supporting the secure infrastructure that powers arenaflex’s applications, customers, partners, and vendors. This remote position offers a blend of hands‑on technical work, strategic collaboration, and customer‑focused support, all while maintaining a $27 per hour compensation package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive IT support for internal, partner, vendor, and external networks that host arenaflex’s mission‑critical applications across multiple data‑center platforms.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot firewall hardware and software, including site deployments, inventory management, configuration changes, security patches, and break/fix services.
  • Support corporate remote‑access clients, ensuring secure endpoint configurations and collaborating with the endpoint security team to implement advanced technologies such as Application ID and Client ID.
  • Deliver IT support for airport operations networking, including NetMotion, hardware, and software maintenance, with a focus on rapid incident response and preventive upkeep.
  • Partner with arenaflex’s business units to provide advisory services for firewall policy design and access‑control management, ensuring alignment with corporate security standards.
  • Offer on‑call support for emergency situations, guaranteeing continuous availability of core infrastructure and security services.
  • Assist the IT Security division in maintaining the integrity and compliance of project data and applications, adhering to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement departmental policies, procedures, standards, and best practices to strengthen the overall security posture.
  • Document network architectures, configuration changes, and cost‑benefit analyses to support vendor negotiations and compliance audits.
  • Continuously monitor security logs, analyze events, and identify potential threats or vulnerabilities, escalating incidents as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Fundamental understanding of systems administration concepts such as TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, and security protocols.
  • Hands‑on experience with on‑premises and cloud‑based server infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex security and networking issues.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting security logs, performing root‑cause analysis, and recommending remediation steps.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Self‑starter attitude with the ability to manage tasks independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
