The Opportunity
We are hiring a Remote Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Transportation Analytics team. This is more than a typical analyst role — it is an opportunity to become a key decision-support partner to Operations, Finance, and Product leadership across the organization. You will work with massive, complex datasets to surface insights that directly influence how arenaflex moves millions of packages, manages costs, and serves its customers.
As a member of our BI crew, you will guide the everyday analytical operations of the transportation function, helping internal stakeholders navigate billions of data points to make excellent, timely, and well-informed business decisions. What You Will Do
As a Business Intelligence Analyst on the Transportation Analytics team, your responsibilities will span the full analytics lifecycle — from data extraction and transformation, to visualization, to stakeholder partnership. Specifically, you will:
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across Operations, Finance, and Product to understand business questions, identify data needs, and deliver actionable insights that drive measurable outcomes for arenaflex.
- Work with large, complex, and disparate datasets to conduct ad-hoc analyses that inform critical business decisions in a timely manner, even when the data is messy or unstructured.
- Design, build, and maintain ETLs and data pipelines that pull information from multiple source systems and centralize it into a single, trusted source of truth for downstream consumption.
- Develop impactful data visualizations and interactive Tableau dashboards that quantify the effect of operational changes, highlight trends, and communicate business challenges to a wide range of audiences.
- Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate reporting tasks, including screenshot generation, metric prioritization, and outlier detection — freeing up time for deeper analysis.
- Ensure data integrity across operations and systems by partnering with stakeholders on data accuracy, completeness, and latency initiatives across multiple platforms.
- Document your processes thoroughly and share your knowledge generously with peers, helping build a culture of analytical excellence across arenaflex.
- Mentor and grow alongside your peers as you develop into a Subject Matter Expert within the transportation analytics domain.
Who You Are
We are looking for someone with strong technical chops, a sharp business mind, and a genuine curiosity for how things work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
Essential Qualifications
- Excellent SQL Skills (2–4 years): You are highly proficient at manipulating data from multiple tables while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the underlying data. You write clean, efficient, and well-documented queries.
- Tableau Dashboard Expertise (1–2 years): You bring a creative, user-experience-driven mindset to building impactful dashboards that not only look great but also drive action and decision-making.
- Business Operations Fluency: You can understand and root-cause complex business problems, and you ideally bring a Supply Chain background, with transportation experience being a strong plus.
- Cross-Functional Communication: You have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple functions, levels, and geographies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau, with a portfolio of dashboards or analyses you are proud of.
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce operations or parcel service operations.
- Working knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for automation and advanced analytics.
- Familiarity with data manipulation and ETL tools such as Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, or similar platforms.
