This senior‑level, full‑time position is based remotely (work‑from‑home) with a competitive hourly rate of $24. The role reports directly to the Vice President of Trust & Wellbeing and partners closely with Product, Engineering, Global Operations, and Strategy teams to design, implement, and scale advanced solutions that detect, analyze, and neutralize malicious activity across the platform.

The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in large‑scale data analysis, machine learning, and risk mitigation with exceptional leadership and communication skills. You will lead a high‑performing, globally distributed team of analysts, data scientists, and engineers, driving strategic initiatives that protect arenaflex’s users, uphold community standards, and support the company’s growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead the Adversarial Abuse & Analytics organization, overseeing both the Abuse Detection and Business Analytics functions.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a diverse team of senior analysts, data scientists, and engineers across multiple time zones.
  • Set clear performance goals, conduct regular coaching sessions, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Drive cross‑functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Global Operations, and Policy teams to align on priorities and deliver impactful solutions.

Abuse Detection & Mitigation

  • Design and implement robust detection pipelines that identify account takeovers, spam, engagement manipulation, coordinated inauthentic behavior, and emerging threats such as AI‑generated abuse.
  • Develop and refine risk scoring models, leveraging large‑scale datasets, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques (SQL, R, Python, TensorFlow, etc.).
  • Establish real‑time monitoring dashboards and automated alerting mechanisms to enable rapid response to high‑severity incidents.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate detection insights into actionable product features and policy updates.

Business Analytics & Reporting

  • Lead the creation of comprehensive analytics reports that quantify abuse impact, track remediation effectiveness, and inform executive decision‑making.
  • Produce transparent, data‑driven briefings for internal stakeholders and external regulators, ensuring compliance with regional privacy and safety regulations.
  • Identify trends, root causes, and emerging patterns through deep dive analyses, and recommend strategic interventions.
  • Maintain a repository of best‑practice documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge‑sharing resources for the global trust community.

Operational Excellence & Incident Response

  • Oversee 24/7 operational readiness, including on‑call rotations, incident escalation protocols, and rapid remediation workflows.
  • Coordinate with Global Operations to execute large‑scale mitigation campaigns, ensuring minimal disruption to legitimate users.
  • Balance short‑term tactical response with long‑term strategic roadmap development, optimizing resource allocation and impact.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience leading risk‑focused initiatives that combat large‑scale abuse and misinformation.
  • Proven track record of building and deploying data pipelines and machine‑learning models for detection of malicious behavior.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams that operate on non‑standard schedules and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, capable of influencing senior leadership and cross‑functional partners.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Post‑graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Machine Learning, or Information Science.
  • Experience analyzing massive datasets (billions of records) to uncover anomalies, patterns, and emerging threats.
  • Hands‑on expertise with SQL, R, Python, MATLAB, or similar analytical languages; familiarity with big‑data platforms (Spark, Hadoop, BigQuery) is a plus.
  • Background in adversarial research, content moderation, or policy enforcement, with a demonstrated interest in combating abuse.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to align technical solutions with broader corporate objectives.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑changing environment, manage ambiguity, and prioritize initiatives that reduce risk while supporting growth.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Leadership & People Management: Inspire, develop, and retain top talent; foster an inclusive, high‑performance culture.
  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Leverage statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization to drive strategy.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong foundation in data engineering, machine learning, and analytics tooling.

  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with product, engineering, legal, policy, and operations teams across global regions.
