Title: Director - Subcontracts Management Location: United States Job Description: Remote Working time Full-time Description & Requirements Maximus is currently seeking a Director, Subcontracts. This position will be responsible for overseeing the development, negotiation and execution of all subcontracting activities within Maximus Federal Inc. In this role, the Director, Subcontracts will facilitate smooth business operations and partnerships. As a leader, you will manage a team to ensure efficient and effective subcontract management processes. You will collaborate with internal departments to align contract terms with the company strategies and risk management policies. This position is remote. Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership with progressive experience in federal subcontracting, procurement, or contracts management within a government contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading high-performing subcontracting or procurement teams, including performance management, coaching, and organizational development.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) as it relates to subcontracting.
  • Proven experience operating within and supporting a Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and operationalize procurement/subcontracting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
  • Experience aligning subcontracting strategies with business development, capture, and proposal efforts, including pricing strategies and subcontractor engagement.
  • Recognized Federal Subcontracts Subject Matter Expert (SME) with the ability to provide strategic guidance to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business processes and scalable operational frameworks.
  • Strong experience influencing and partnering with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Contracts, and Business Development teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience establishing governance frameworks, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives for subcontracting operations.
  • Demonstrated success in risk identification and mitigation within subcontracting and procurement processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide authoritative guidance to internal business teams on corporate goals and objectives relating to subcontract activity. - Review solicitations and prepare specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals. - Work directly with Business Development assisting with the overall procurement approach. - Analyze significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedure, ultimately reducing risk to the company. - Interact and communicate as appropriate with finance/accounting and business team disciplines, including executive leadership, for kickoff meetings, resolution of subcontract issues, and disputes. - Monitor performance of subordinates according to established monitoring standards; conduct performance appraisals, make decisions on personnel actions including hiring, firing, and disciplinary action. -Provide authoritative guidance to internal business teams on corporate goals and objectives relating to subcontract activity. -Review solicitations and prepare specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals. -Work directly with Business Development assisting with the overall procurement approach. -Analyze significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedure, ultimately reducing risk to the company. -Interact and communicate as appropriate with finance/accounting and business team disciplines, including executive leadership, for kickoff meetings, resolution of subcontract issues, and disputes. -Monitor performance of subordinates according to established monitoring standards; conduct performance appraisals, make decisions on personnel actions including hiring, firing, and disciplinary action. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
