With a strong commitment to safety, innovation, and employee empowerment, arenaflex continuously invests in cutting‑edge technology and sustainable practices to stay ahead of industry trends. As part of our growing team, you will join a dynamic organization that values curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Why This Role Matters

The Remote Flight Operations Performance Engineer is a critical bridge between data, safety, and operational excellence. In this role you will harness your technical expertise to capture, analyze, and share flight performance data, ensuring that arenaflex’s aircraft operate safely, efficiently, and in line with our sustainability goals. Your insights will directly influence flight‑planning strategies, weight‑and‑balance decisions, and regulatory compliance, making a tangible impact on the airline’s performance and passenger experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Capture & Maintenance: Record and maintain accurate departure and arrival performance data, including delay metrics, OEI (Operational Event Investigation) procedures, and MEL (Minimum Equipment List) compliance.
  • SCAP Development: Create and update SCAP (Standardized Computer Aircraft Performance) modules and interfaces to support real‑time performance calculations.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with external vendors to maintain organization‑wide weight‑and‑balance (W&B) and performance models, ensuring data integrity across all aircraft types.
  • Manual & Procedure Oversight: Provide oversight of flight operations manuals and procedures, guaranteeing that documentation reflects the latest regulatory and operational standards.
  • Weight‑and‑Balance Support: Assist the Maintenance and Flight Operations teams with weight‑and‑balance tasks, including payload calculations and aircraft configuration verification.
  • RNAV & Navigation Systems: Develop and maintain RNAV (Area Navigation) visual systems, ensuring accurate route planning and compliance with FAA navigation requirements.
  • Route Database Management: Keep the organization’s route database and flight plans current, incorporating new waypoints, airways, and procedural updates.
  • Strategic Liaison: Partner with flight crews and planning teams to identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost reductions.
  • Performance Analysis: Use PC‑based tools to analyze aircraft performance across all flight phases, delivering actionable insights to pilots, engineers, and management.
  • Safety & Security Expertise: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for safety examinations, supporting internal audits and external regulatory reviews.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Contribute to fuel‑efficiency programs and help model flight operations within the Fuel Management System to reduce carbon emissions.
  • Decision‑Support Modeling: Provide analytical support to flight planning software and decision‑making tools, enhancing predictive accuracy.
  • Customer Service Representation: Model arenaflex’s customer service standards in all interactions, delivering guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support the broader mission of the Flight Operations department.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Science, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands‑on experience with aircraft performance analysis, preferably within a commercial airline environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and programming languages such as C#, Visual C++, and FORTRAN.
  • In‑depth knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 25 and 121 aircraft performance regulations and requirements.
  • Familiarity with weight‑and‑balance data for A320 and B737 family aircraft.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience overseeing external vendors and ensuring deliverables meet contractual specifications.
  • Understanding of aircraft flight envelopes and limitations as defined by FAA Advisory Circular 120‑27.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and the ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial pilot’s license (ATP or equivalent) – highly valued for operational insight.
  • Hands‑on experience with modern flight‑planning software (e.g., Lido/Flight, Jeppesen, or similar platforms).
  • Certification or training in Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or related process‑optimization methodologies.
  • Prior involvement in sustainability or fuel‑efficiency projects within an airline or aerospace organization.
