Although the title includes “Senior,” this role is designed for an entry‑level professional with a strong foundation in software development, tooling, and pipeline creation. You will play a pivotal part in designing, building, and maintaining the custom gear, tools, and libraries that empower our game development crews across all disciplines.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with artists, designers, programmers, and production leads to identify workflow inefficiencies, propose robust solutions, and drive the adoption of new tools that enhance productivity and quality. Your work will directly influence the speed at which our teams iterate, prototype, and ship content, making you an essential catalyst for arenaflex’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify & Analyze Inefficiencies: Proactively discover bottlenecks and pain points in existing pipelines across art, design, engineering, and production workflows.
- Design & Implement Solutions: Architect, develop, and integrate custom tools, scripts, and asset pipelines that address identified challenges and streamline processes.
- Maintain Core Gear: Preserve, extend, and support arenaflex’s current suite of engine‑specific and custom‑built tools, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Build Custom Asset Pipelines: Create robust pipelines for importing, processing, and exporting assets (textures, models, animations, audio, etc.) that meet the needs of multiple game engines.
- Grow Proprietary Libraries: Contribute to arenaflex’s proprietary libraries, utilities, and technologies, expanding their capabilities across Unity, Unreal, and in‑house engines.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work hand‑in‑hand with artists, designers, and programmers to gather requirements, evaluate trade‑offs, and deliver solutions that align with production schedules.
- Documentation & Training: Produce clear documentation, tutorials, and training sessions to facilitate rapid adoption of new tools by the broader team.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in regular retrospectives, post‑mortems, and process reviews to refine toolsets and ensure they evolve with the studio’s needs.
- Support Production: Provide timely technical support during crunch periods, troubleshooting tool‑related issues to keep milestones on track.
Essential Qualifications
