At arenaflex, we are redefining how the aviation industry connects people, places, and possibilities. Our mission is to deliver world‑class service, innovative technology, and unforgettable travel experiences—all while empowering a global workforce to thrive from the comfort of their own homes. As a leader in the airline sector, arenaflex invests heavily in cutting‑edge cloud infrastructure, data‑driven decision making, and a culture that celebrates diversity, curiosity, and continuous learning. If you are passionate about building resilient, high‑performance web solutions that directly impact millions of travelers, you have found your next great adventure.

Role Overview – Remote AWS Cloud Web Developer

We are seeking a highly motivated Remote AWS Cloud Web Developer to join our TechOps team. In this full‑time, work‑from‑home position, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications that power critical customer‑facing experiences across arenaflex’s digital ecosystem. You will collaborate with product owners, UX designers, data engineers, and security specialists to translate business needs into robust, cloud‑native solutions. This role blends full‑stack development, DevOps best practices, and a deep commitment to customer experience excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and deploy end‑to‑end web applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, and Lambda.
  • Build and maintain micro‑service APIs that enable seamless integration between arenaflex’s reservation system, loyalty platform, and mobile apps.
  • Write clean, testable, and well‑documented code in modern web frameworks (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or Django) and front‑end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React or Vue).
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies—sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives—and contribute to continuous improvement of the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and champion best practices for security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline to accelerate delivery while ensuring high quality.
  • Utilize containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS) to create reproducible, scalable environments for development, testing, and production.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production incidents, performing root‑cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including UX, product management, data science, and security—to refine requirements, prioritize features, and align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Stay current with emerging AWS services, industry trends, and open‑source innovations, proactively recommending enhancements that drive efficiency and competitive advantage.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Need to Succeed)

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience (3+ years) in web development and cloud engineering, with strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one server‑side framework (Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or Django).
  • Cloud Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with core AWS services—EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront—and a solid understanding of networking, IAM, and security best practices.
  • Container & Orchestration Knowledge: Practical experience using Docker and Kubernetes (or Amazon EKS) to build, ship, and run applications at scale.
  • Database Skills: Strong grasp of relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL options (DynamoDB, MongoDB) for data‑driven applications.
  • Operating Systems: Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments, including command‑line tools, scripting, and system administration.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Problem‑Solving Ability: Demonstrated analytical mindset with a track record of debugging complex software issues and delivering effective solutions.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a distributed, fast‑paced Agile team.
  • Security Awareness: Commitment to protecting personal data, adhering to privacy regulations, and following secure coding practices.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States and age of at least 18 years.

Preferred Qualifications (Competitive Edge)

  • Experience in the airline or travel industry, understanding of reservation systems, loyalty programs, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway) and event‑driven design patterns.
  • Exposure to Agile release management, continuous delivery, and feature flag strategies.
  • Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar.
  • Knowledge of performance monitoring tools (CloudWatch, New Relic, Datadog) and automated testing frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence technical direction.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Full‑Stack Development: Ability to build both front‑end interfaces and back‑end services that are performant, accessible, and user‑centric.
  • DevOps Mindset: Passion for automation, infrastructure as code, and creating repeatable, reliable deployment pipelines.
  • Customer‑First Attitude: Understanding how technical decisions impact the traveler experience and a drive to enhance satisfaction at every touchpoint.
  • Adaptability: Comfort navigating ambiguous requirements, shifting priorities, and evolving technology landscapes.
  • Collaboration: Strong team player who values diverse perspectives, encourages inclusive dialogue, and contributes to a positive remote culture.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to personal growth, staying ahead of industry trends, and sharing knowledge with peers.
