Mortgage Compliance Officer
As Vesta's first compliance hire, the full-time Mortgage Compliance Officer will own the interpretation of mortgage origination regulations, ensuring product compliance while supporting customer-facing teams and staying ahead of the evolving regulatory landscape in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities
- Own Vesta's internal interpretation of mortgage origination regulations and serve as the authoritative voice for regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with the product team to advise on building compliant loan origination processes
- Support customer-facing teams by equipping them with insights on regulatory and investor guideline compliance
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in mortgage compliance, with hands-on experience at a mortgage lender
- Deep understanding of mortgage origination regulations and their practical implications across the loan lifecycle
- Experience in a regulatory or supervisory role is a plus
- Ability to form and defend a clear point of view on compliance issues
- Curiosity about AI and its responsible implementation in a regulated industry
