Why This Role Is a Game‑Changer for Your Career

Joining arenaflex means becoming part of a dynamic Payments and Financial Operations team that sits at the heart of our Credit Union division. You will be responsible for a broad spectrum of financial‑transaction activities—ranging from electronic fund transfers and ACH processing to invoice reconciliation and customer dispute resolution. This role offers a unique blend of analytical rigor, customer interaction, and regulatory compliance, providing you with a solid foundation for advancement in the financial services and aviation industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction Processing & Reconciliation: Execute daily electronic fund transfers, ACH files, and wire payments; reconcile general‑ledger entries and ensure accurate posting of all financial activity.
  • Customer & Vendor Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, banks, and internal stakeholders to resolve payment inquiries, return items, and transaction discrepancies.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Monitor and enforce compliance with NACHA rules, Federal Reserve regulations, and other applicable banking statutes, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Document Management: Maintain meticulous records of all transaction logs, audit trails, and supporting documentation to satisfy internal controls and external audit requirements.
  • Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve payment disputes, including ACH returns, check batches, and credit card chargebacks, while communicating findings clearly to affected parties.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports; analyze trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
  • System Support & Enhancements: Collaborate with IT and operations teams on system upgrades, data migration, and the implementation of new payment platforms such as Episys/Symitar.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior staff, conduct cross‑training sessions, and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest workflow optimizations, automation opportunities, and best‑practice enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce error rates.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional post‑secondary education preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, payment processing, or banking operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and experience using financial software platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform numerical calculations, reconcile accounts, and interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information to non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support business needs and meet service level agreements.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Self‑motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision while thriving in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in the airline or travel industry, especially within a credit union or financial services context.
  • Hands‑on experience with payment processing systems such as Episys, Symitar, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of ACH, wire, and check processing rules, including NACHA and Federal Reserve guidelines.
  • Familiarity with fraud detection tools, risk assessment, and anti‑money‑laundering (AML) procedures.
  • Certification in financial operations (e.g., Certified Payments Professional – CPP) or related credentials.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Customer Service Excellence: Ability to handle high‑volume inquiries with empathy, professionalism, and timely resolution.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem‑solving capabilities, capable of diagnosing root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of banking regulations, compliance standards, and data security best practices.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfort navigating multiple software applications, databases, and web‑based tools simultaneously.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet strict deadlines, and manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Effective teamwork skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments, vendors, and external partners.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to evolving processes, new technology rollouts, and shifting business requirements.
